A Double Analysis of Fetter Attachments, Specters, and Ectoplasm & Echo Mist
Just what do these terms mean?
Fetter Attachments: Joshua Ravencroft defines fetter attachments as items that a ghost was attached to when living, such as a personal item that had strong emotions related to it, or a location they were brutally murdered in (consider the basement of Vesuvius Furnace) (Ravencroft, 2009).
Specter: Paranormal energy manifested in nearly any way, these would often be considered as ghosts, apparitions, or the chills that run down a spine.
Ectoplasm: The term ectoplasm is introduced, as the substance ghosts use to take on a form that arises from fear evoked from the living in a release of energy through a chill down the spine or heightened sense of anxiety (Ravencroft, 2009).
Echo Mist: Dark Realm continues to offer a definition, stating that some specters are able to transfer their energy into a misty fog, referred to as an echo mist (Ravencroft, 2009).

Video Analysis of this Terminology
Video origin: Youtube.com
The video above illustrates the presence of a specter in one of Dark Realm Research's investigation of another haunted location in Lincolnton, NC. The location they are investigating would be considered a fetter attachment, as mention is made of someone possibly dying in the location. The ectoplasm is present as it is able to manifest itself to visible readings on the EMF machine. The specter is able to be seen at 2:34 into the video as a quick flash of light. This is most likely because the investigators do not have as high a sense of fear, therefore the ectoplasm is not able to become as strong as it may in a haunted house with amateur investigators. This house was also most likely chosen as a location to investigate due to the presence of echo mist outside the home, indicating the presence of spectral energy in or around the home (Johnathan, 2011).
